Lead, Manage, Mentor, Coach

How to know when to do what, and how!

A One Day Training Workshop for proactive, management level, staff that distinguishes and develops the essential differences and common traits of the roles of Leader, Manager, Mentor and Coach.

Participants learn to distinguish the roles of Leader, Manager, Mentor and Coach and gain clarity about the mindsets and perspectives that are common to the effective use of all four roles. This program outlines common management situations that call for the use of one role over another and help leaders develop the confidence to know what to do when.

Leaders also develop and learn to use the skills unique to each of the roles. The training offers opportunities for practice and a development plan that participants can take back to their workplaces.

While fully developing oneself in any or all of these roles can be life’s work, participants will leave with the resources they need to feel clearer and better equipped to create significantly better results within their teams. Participants will leave with complete notes and a personal development plan they can use to guide their self-directed learning after the workshop.

Session Description

Being a manager today is confusing. Do I lead, manage, mentor or coach? Just what IS the difference? Stop questioning your own abilities! In this full day workshop you will distinguishes and develop the essential differences and common traits of the roles of Leader, Manager, Mentor and Coach. You will develop the confidence to know when to apply which approach and acquire clear, practical skills in each role.

Longer – Managers in organizations are often confused by Leadership or Management literature and training that calls them to employ various techniques and styles. They are told adopting these styles will get results. Unfortunately lack of clarity on various roles and practices often creates more confusion than it resolves. Practices can seem contradictory, may only work some of the time, and leave managers wondering what is really expected of them. In particularly difficult situations managers may start to question their own abilities or may resign themselves to working around difficult staff resulting in high turnover or the acceptance of poor quality work.

In this full day workshop proactive management level staff will learn to distinguish and develop the essential differences and common traits of the roles of Leader, Manager, Mentor and Coach. They develop the confidence to know when to apply which approach and they develop clear, practical skills and perspectives that will skyrocket their effectiveness, boost their confidence and garner them the admiration and loyalty of their teams.
